Bonds Beyond Hunger

The project was inspired by a visit to The Haven Old Age Home in Somangalam village, where we witnessed the silent struggles of elderly residents facing food insecurity. Moved by their resilience and aligning with the Zero Hunger (SDG 2) goal, we felt a strong calling to support them with nutritious meals, compassion, and dignity through a meaningful community-driven initiative.

We identified the nutritional needs of residents at The Haven Old Age Home, Somangalam village, and planned a food distribution drive aligned with SDG 2 – Zero Hunger. With contributions from volunteers and donors, we prepared and served wholesome meals, ensuring hygiene and care. The initiative fostered empathy, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility toward supporting the elderly in our community.

This project taught us the value of empathy, teamwork, and social responsibility. We learned how small actions can make a big difference in the lives of the elderly. It enhanced our planning and communication skills while deepening our understanding of community needs. Most importantly, we realized that serving others with compassion creates lasting impact and meaningful human connections.
