196asOne

We live in a world that is continuously tormented by seclusive and exclusive narratives that enhance extremist tendencies. It is not a surprise that some people have now turned into a killing spree where they destroy human life and property in outright acts of terrorism and much more through unspoken and unvoiced terror activities that include mass murder of innocent unborn babies, neglect and witch-hunting of the aged, and extreme separatist tendencies based on race, religion, ethnicity and even family background. As scouts, we are a large family who believe that we have a duty to God who is the author, source and end of human life; to self who is the subject player and actor in all circumstances rooted in our freedom of choice, ability to know the truth and capacity to love and be loved; and to others the objects and collaborators of our love and service. Due to this believe, we are supposed to create a web of friendships that go beyond the social exclusive rhetoric and introduce narratives of peace. It is on this call that the Kisii University Flamingo Scouts have initiated the #196asOne group to enable us dialogue and raise awareness towards inclusive and fraternal solidarity to enhance peace in our society. We seek partnerships from all and sundry in passing our message to reach as many people as possible. We also would greatly appreciate any donations made in favor of Kisii University Scouts to enable us run the dialogues and peace caravans especially in Kenya as we enter the election period.
