Back to Activities People laughing together

Happy memory collage

Learning Objectives

•    Enhance cognitive recall of positive experiences.
•    Identify and remember activities that bring positive emotions.

Instructions

-    The main idea is that between the group you will all create a collective “happy” board, meaning that you will all think of times, activities, or anything that make you happy and paste something that represents it.
-    For this activity, you will need to ask scouts in advance to bring pictures of happy memories or activities that make them feel joy. You can also do this activity backwards: ask scouts to bring photos where they look very happy, then you ask them to recall what they were doing at that moment. Doing it like this, might help them realize new things that actually make them happy.
-    You will all take a moment to paste them all in a white poster, tell them to be as creative as possible, make it a group exercise and have fun while doing it.
-    Once you are done, ask everyone to present what they added and why that makes them happy.
-    In addition, you can take an extra step by making everyone commit to do these activities at least twice a week.

Debrief

At the end, you will end up with a poster full of happy memories, activities that gives them joy and more.  The reflection needs to be in line.
