Youth Day Celebration

On Tuesday, on the 157th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Bharat Scout and Guide, District Udhampur Unit organized a district level program at Shivalik College. On this occasion, students adopted the principles and ideals of Vivekananda along with de-addiction, road safety, education awareness, environmental protection. Vowed to Former District Commissioner, Scouts Ashok Kumar said that Swami Vivekananda's thoughts should be imbibed in life. He called upon the youth to follow the path shown by Swami ji for the welfare of humanity, universal brotherhood, understanding, peace and harmony . Former District Training Commissioner Veena Sharma administered the pledge to the youth to follow the path of patriotism. Debate competition and cultural programs were presented by the Scouts and Guides in the program. Scout Master Rakesh Sharma and Amardev Singh told that on January 12, National Youth Day is to be celebrated as "Youth - We are the next generation leaders" as directed by Bharat Scout and Guide National Headquarters New Delhi. The Youth Talent Hub program was organized under the aegis of the district unit. Various activities were organized under Youth-Youth Week from January 5 to 11. Activities set by National Headquarters include Yuva Kanwas, Yuva Fitbit, Yuva Art of Green, Young Artists , Youth in Action, Youth Expression etc. Scouts and Guides will be rewarded at the school level for motivating the students of the school to participate in any of these three activities and gave certificates to all the participants Scout Master Dr. Khemraj described Swami Vivekananda as a youth icon. Former District Organizing Commissioner Vikram Gulati, Guide Captain Anuradha Sharma, Ranger Amook Sharma, Sunil Kumar and Scout Guides of various schools were honored on the occasion.
