What is the 30-Hour Famine?
The 30-Hour Famine is a global movement against hunger and poverty. Participants fast for 30 hours, learn about global issues and raise funds, transforming hunger into hope. Our slogan for the year 2021 is “Fight for the Better!” This slogan empowers and encourages everyone to stand up and fight for the survival of millions worldwide.
30-Hour Famine 2021 will focus on the following areas to understand how poverty and hunger impact:
(1) Health & Nutrition
(2) Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
(3) Livelihood
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, World Vision Malaysia has revised the 30-Hour Famine format, allowing Famine Fighters of all ages to participate in the campaign through the Individual Challenge, Friends & Family (F&F) Challenge, or Community Challenge. All related activities that require participants to congregate, such as 30-Hour Famine DIY Camps, 8-Hour Famine DIY Camps and the 30-Hour Famine Countdown will resume next year if circumstances permit.
The new format of the 30-Hour Famine campaign this year will allow interested individuals to participate in the campaign virtually.
