Urban Gardens, Greener Future
The project was inspired by the need to empower youth with practical skills in urban gardening and tree planting, promoting sustainable food production and environmental stewardship. It aims to foster responsible consumption while enhancing green spaces and supporting climate resilience in urban communities.
The project was carried out through a hands-on training where Scouts learned vegetable gardening basics and the link between gardening and tree planting. With support from the Department of Agriculture, participants applied their skills by starting their own garden plots.
The project showed that practical skills in urban gardening and tree planting empower youth to promote sustainability. It also highlighted the importance of community support and having the right resources to achieve lasting environmental impact.
