Scouts for Quality Education: The Philippine Flag
With a straight goal in mind to disseminate information and to give emphasis on how important the national flag is, and how to give respect and courtesy to the national symbol of the Philippines. Nowadays, a lot of people especially the youth don't know how to give respect and how to treat a national symbol correctly.
The project takes place at Imelda Integrated School, here in Cabanatuan City, Philippines. It is participated by Junior High School students of the said school. After coordinating with the school principal and school scouts coordinator, we prepared the paraphernalia for the activity such as; flag, projector, megaphone, tables and chairs. A week after coordinating with the school, the symposium activity was held.
It gives a lot of knowledge about the flag code and it's symbols. After the said activity the students are expected to give more respect and courtesy to the national flag and to it's culture. They will be more patriotic and will establish a better citizenship in their nation.
I learn that there's a lot of youth nowadays that don't know the basic symbols of the flag and the do's and don'ts of it. It brought to my concern that an activity like this will be more of a impact if we will conduct this annually, and relay this to their outfits and troops.
