Scouting for a Swachh Park
Inspired by the values of Scouts and Guides, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, my motivation was to encourage people to take responsibility for public places. Through this activity, I wanted to set an example that cleanliness is a shared duty and that small collective efforts can lead to a cleaner, greener, and healthier society.
We conduct a park sanitation drive under SDG no.6 and No.13. Individuals collected and responsibly disposed waste and recycled plastic in general. Helped spread the message of civiic responsibility and boost public hygiene while highlighting the concept of young people driving environmental change.
This sanitation activity taught me that cleanliness requires regular effort and community participation. Many people are unaware that small acts like littering can spoil public spaces. I learned that leading by example motivates others to maintain cleanliness. The project also helped me develop teamwork, planning, and leadership skills. It strengthened my understanding that clean surroundings improve health, protect nature, and create a positive environment for everyone.
