Puerto Rican Mission Trip 2025
Knowing how much other people have a need and having a heart of compassion is what drew us to get involved. It was a great way for Samuel Gordon from Pack 545 to tangibly be part of lasting change. Samuel and his mom, Amanda, were able to do the project together.
In collaboration with Thirst Missions, Amanda Gordon from Pack 545 and Samuel Gordon from Pack 545, worked together to clean debris, remove old paint, add layers of new paint, and clean a dormitory style building that was devastated by Hurricanes Maria and Irma in 2017. On our final day, the group walked around a nearby neighborhood to deliver groceries for 10 families and also prayed with and for people.
The system will not let me put in the quantity of food which was about 40 kg of food delivered. We also directly helped about 100 people who attend the church and the nearby community. Surveying project needs, creating a plan, being flexible with limited resources, creativity with limited resources, collaboration, patience with each other and ourselves, working in the heat.
