The Ghost in the Air

We wanted students to understand the science behind Ulaanbaatar’s air pollution and how it affects their health. Our goal was to turn this knowledge into simple actions that reduce waste and encourage more sustainable daily choices.
We held a science workshop for Grade 10–12 students on PM2.5 and Ulaanbaatar’s air pollution. Students then made reusable beeswax food wraps and transformed old hoodies into balaclavas, followed by a community sports day.
We learned that science becomes more meaningful when students can turn what they learn into practical actions they can use in everyday life.
