Free Eye Health Outreach Program 2025
My motivation came from the core values of scouting—service, empathy, and community development. Many rural people have limited access to eye care, and this campaign was a way to help those in need. I wanted to be part of a meaningful effort that improves lives directly. The idea of being able to help someone regain their vision or receive necessary treatment inspired me to contribute my time and energy with dedication.
As a Rover Scout, my role in the campaign was to assist in organizing and smoothly executing the day's activities. I arrived early to help set up the registration booth. I participated in guiding patients, registering over 200 people for eye treatment. Throughout the day, I assisted the doctors and medical staff by maintaining order and helping deliver glasses and medicine provided by the Eklimur Ambia Trust. I worked with fellow volunteers to ensure the campaign ran efficiently and all treated
From this campaign, I learned the importance of community service and teamwork. I saw how a small group of committed people can make a big difference in a single day. I also learned how to organize and manage a health camp, communicate effectively with villagers, and respond to real-world problems with empathy. Most importantly, I realized how powerful volunteerism can be in building a better society.
