COMMUNITY BASED SCOUTING - ( KENYA SCOUTS )
the need to increase the number of scouts in our region doing scouting at a community base level, since most scouts are school going kids and youths who after closer of schools scouting activities is made to hold until when they reopen.
the wish of having scouting activities continue at community level.
The project is implemented at the community level where i go to religious worship places like churches and mosque, market place, non government institution and even police stations where i do share my idea then select a good ground/class where we will be doing our scouting activities.
approximately 200 people did benefit from this project , a positive impact was set in to those who never knew the benefit of scouting both students and non school going individuals.
i learned from the project that most people in the my community know about scouting but lack knowledge on how scouting can improve ones life in accordance with the scouting dimension.
those who know scouting need more knowledge on the methods of scouting and be engaged more in scouting activities and world wide brotherhood of scouting, attend international events on sponsored bases. this will make scouting be appreciated.
