The Escotismo em ação – Transformando vidas, impactando futuros (Scouting in action – Transforming lives, impacting futures in English) project aims to transform the lives of children and young people in situations of social vulnerability in Bahia – Brazil through the establishment and strengthening of Local Scout Units (UEL). It offers young people aged 6.5 to 17 a safe, educational, and inspiring environment, using the Scout Method as a tool for social transformation. The proposal is based on the principles and practices of the Educational Program of the Scouts of Brazil, which promotes the holistic development of young people through engaging, progressive, and challenging activities. The actions are organized around four key themes: Environment, Peace and Development, Health and Well-being, and Life Skills—promoting values such as responsibility, empathy, solidarity, and respect for diversity. The project’s objectives are: 1. Expand access to Scouting for at least 100 children and young people in situations of social vulnerability in Salvador, Metropolitan Region and other cities in Bahia; 2. Promote the development of the Scout Method by ensuring volunteer training and the implementation of educational activities; 3. Strengthen connections between schools, communities, and the Scout Movement by mobilizing local partnerships and consolidating Local Scout Units. By providing meaningful educational experiences that are connected to local realities in Bahia, the project aims not only to expand personal and social development opportunities for participants but also to strengthen their well-being and sense of belonging.
