Scout Power Unleashed: Statehouse Girls Scouts
Hello fellow Scouts and friends from around the globe,
I'm thrilled to share a recent experience that truly warmed my heart and reaffirmed the enduring spirit of Scouting. On Wednesday,13th June 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to spend time with the vibrant Statehouse Girls High school Scouts right here in Kenya. It was a day filled with energy, learning, and immense joy.
My visit was all about connecting with the new recruits and helping them navigate their exciting journey in Scouting. We spent a good portion of the day on training new drills, focusing on practical skills that are essential for any aspiring Scout. It was rewarding to see their eagerness to learn and their determination to master each task. Their enthusiasm was absolutely infectious.
Beyond the drills, I also had the chance to share some of my own experiences as a Scout during my high school days. We talked about challenges, triumphs, the bonds of friendship, and the invaluable lessons Scouting taught me. It was a wonderful exchange, bringing back so many fond memories and hopefully offering them a glimpse into the lifelong adventure that Scouting truly is. We laughed, we learned, and we truly had a fantastic time together.
The day concluded on a special note as we recorded some videos for their upcoming anniversary celebration. It was a joy to help them capture these moments, and I'm really looking forward to editing the footage to create a memorable tribute for their big day. It's a small way to contribute to their history and celebrate their achievements.
Being able to connect with these young, budding leaders reinforced the power of Scouting to build character, foster community, and instill a sense of purpose. It’s a testament to the fact that "once a Scout, always a Scout" – the lessons and friendships truly last a lifetime.
I encourage everyone to find ways to support and engage with local Scout groups. The energy and potential within these young individuals are boundless, and every bit of mentorship and shared experience helps shape them into responsible, engaged global citizens.
