The National Safe from Harm Training was conducted on 17–19 August in Akkol, Kazakhstan, within the framework of the Messenger of Peace project “Safe and Skilled: The Capacity Growth of OSMK.” The training brought together 45 Scout leaders from across Kazakhstan and focused on strengthening their knowledge and practical skills in creating safe and inclusive environments for children and young people. The programme covered key Safe from Harm principles, including understanding, recognition, response, prevention, and implementation, as well as the role of the Scout Promise and Law and the Scout Method in safeguarding. Participants worked through practical cases and exercises to help them identify risks, respond appropriately to concerns, and integrate Safe from Harm principles into their everyday Scouting activities. The training also contributed to building a national network of leaders who can promote and implement Safe from Harm standards within their local Scout groups and support the further development of safeguarding practices across the Organization of the Scout Movement of Kazakhstan.
