NSOT Leadership Training Ignites Future Leaders
The National Scout Organization of Thailand successfully concluded the National Youth Leadership Training Course, held from 27 to 30 May 2025 at the historic Vajiravudh Scout Camp in Chonburi. The event brought together 89 dynamic young participants representing 71 provinces across the country.
This four-day intensive training aimed to strengthen the role of Scouting as a premier provider of non-formal education. It focused on equipping young Scouts with the leadership skills and competencies needed to address pressing challenges in their communities and beyond. Participants engaged in a variety of workshops, team-building activities, and scenario-based learning modules designed to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and civic responsibility.
A historic milestone was also achieved during the course with the convening of Thailand’s first-ever National Scout Youth Council. In a landmark election, 11 young leaders were chosen to represent the voices of youth in the National Scout Council, marking a significant step toward inclusive and youth-led decision-making within the organization.
Looking ahead, the newly elected council will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Scouting in Thailand. Their responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring the procedure of the National Youth Council Establishment
• Creating a scout network of young people across the country
• Enhancing the implementation of youth leadership in decision-making at all levels
• Leading community service initiatives that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• Advising the National Scout Council on youth-related policies and programs.
• Developing peer-led training modules to expand leadership development opportunities nationwide.
• Organizing national youth forums to gather input from Scouts across the country.
• Ensuring that the Thai Scouts representatives attending regional and international Scouting events reflect the voice of young people from all over the country
