Fostering Collaboration Between Scouts and Youth Council in Zimbabwe

The Regional Director for Africa, Frederic Tutu Kama-Kama during his visit to Zimbabwe in December paid a courtesy call to the Zimbabwe Youth Council to shed light on how the World Scout Bureau works with the Scout Association of Zimbabwe and how they intend to work with Zimbabwe Youth Council. Kama-Kama pointed out that Zimbabwe won a bid to host the 2018 Africa Scout Day commemorations which is a day set aside by AU in recognition of contributions of Scouting in Africa. Ruwa Scout Park will be the venue for the celebrations and over 300 delegates from Africa are expected to grace the occasion with a couple of visitors expected from other regions around the world. Zimbabwe will also be hosting Africa Scout Youth Forum from 4th to 6th September 2018 and the Africa Scout Conference from 7th to 10th September 2018. Frederic also reflected that he is looking forward to supporting and strengthening the existing ties between the Scout Association of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Youth Council as they do the preparation for the scheduled events and beyond. He indicated that the Scouting community will be glad to have the Patron of Scout Association of Zimbabwe who is also the President of Zimbabwe to officiate the events.
