Bioregional Cooperation:a cleaner Lake Victoria
Lake Victoria - a regionally shared physical feature supports six(6) counties of the Lake region in Kenya in provision of food(fish), water for domestic use, agriculture & industrial use and for transportation. This calls for regional cooperation towards ensuring the lake is protected and preserved from pollution - for its sustainability and usefulness.
During the Kisii county (one of the Lake Region counties) Scouts Inter-Patrol competition, we engaged scouts and scouters in environmental conservation education session and shared insights on plastic pollution on Lake Victoria and our role as scouts in protecting the lake from pollution - towards creating a better world, and leaving the world a better place than we found it.
The session saw 42 scouts pledge allegiance for action, with a commitment to practice actions that not only protect our lake, but also preserves it for the future generations.
