Waste Symposium on National Waste Awareness Day
Indonesia has the commemoration of National Waste Awareness Day on 21 February, with the background of landfill failure. Our university conduct a Waste Symposium that convene several relevant stakeholders. Our Scouts group's special unit on waste awareness, Lokalogi, join as speaker and official waste management partner. As our vision to make community of waste-conscious, this project hold an important part.
Lokalogi hand a ToR document to the organizing team, that include the waste management strategies to make the event waste-conscious. We lend 50 reusable cups to avoid single-use container bring used. At the event, our volunteers make sure audience put the waste in the right sorted box. And ultimately, I myself as the representative of Lokalogi, deliver a presentation about 'what is the best framework to be used' to manage waste.
This is another event waste management for us, and delivery of knowledge. With half of our team is new volunteers, there are several evaluation and learning about field management. Also as one of the EWM target, this event hopefully will be a good learning for every stakeholder about responsible waste management.
