
The Scouts Healing Invisible Wounds Campaign team exhibition during the 'Mental Health Awareness Week'
The National Youth council of Kenya in partnership with Kenya Scouts Association, Spread Truth Africa and Centum Sports District organized a one week awareness event on mental health and invited the youth from all backgrounds to attent. In attendance was The team of Scouting Psychologists in Kenya running a project named 'Scouts Healing Invisible Wounds' which comprises of five Rover scouts from Nairobi county. Some of the activities we participated in were; Entrepreneurship talks, mental health discussions, finance and SME's, sports activities, personal branding, a beauty pagent where we crowned Mr. and Miss. Mental Health Kenya and climaxed the week with doing comunity service at a nearby school where we planted 200 trees, cleaned and treamed hedges in the compound, repaited old classes and worked out a plan with the pupils to take good care of the developments.
As Scouts Healing Ivisible wounds, we managed to mobilize over 60 rover scouts to attend the summit. we also got to engage with UNICEF-Ke and through the U-report, we are able to give realtime insights and views on the state of mental health among the youth which will play a huge role in making sure that the needs of the young people are acted upon by our leaders.
