Scouting Green: Tree Planting Initiative

To promote environmental stewardship and active citizenship among young scouts by engaging them in sustainable reforestation.To educate scouts about the importance of trees in mitigating climate change, preserving biodiversity and sustaining ecosystems.

The 45 scouts (grades 4 and 6), 3 Scout leaders, 1 school principal proceed to the designated tree planting site within the school and nearby open spaces. The scouts planted various native and fruit bearing trees such as bamboo (17 pcs.), guava (5 pcs), Indian mango (2 pcs),guyabano (10 pcs) and malunggay (11 pcs) a total of 45 different kind of seedlings or plant they planted. The scouts pledge to monitor and water the trees for the next 6 months.

East City Central School successfully planted a total of 45 native and fruit bearing trees, helping increase green cover in and around the school. A total of 45 Boy Scouts actively took part in the activity, demonstrating strong enthusiasm and responsibility toward environmental advocacy. A six- month monitoring plan was created to ensure survival growth. Scouts enhanced their leadership, planning and cooperation skills through organized team tasks and role assignments during the event.
