“Rovers for Child Health: Vitamin-A Campaign 2025”
As Rover Scouts, we are committed to serving the community, especially in areas related to health and child welfare. The National Vitamin-A Campaign 2025 gave us an opportunity to support public health by helping prevent child malnutrition and night blindness. Our sense of social responsibility and the desire to contribute meaningfully to national efforts inspired us to take part in this important humanitarian initiative.
We collaborated with the local health department during the National Vitamin-A Campaign 2025. Around 15 Rover Scouts from Metropolitan University were assigned to different vaccination centers across Sylhet city. We helped administer Vitamin-A capsules to children aged 6 months to 5 years. Our Rovers worked as volunteers, maintaining discipline, assisting health workers, and spreading awareness among parents about the importance of child nutrition.
Through this project, we learned the value of teamwork, discipline, and empathy while working in real-life health service environments. It taught us how youth volunteers can play a meaningful role in national campaigns. We also developed better communication skills while engaging with parents and health workers. Most importantly, we realized that small actions—like giving a vitamin capsule—can have a big impact on public health.
