Road Safety: A Collective Commitment to Traffic

What inspired us to start this project was the daily, tangible impact of traffic issues in our city. We witnessed firsthand the increasing traffic jams, the tragic frequency of road accidents, and the widespread disregard for traffic rules that directly affected countless lives. Seeing people suffer simply because rules were ignored fueled our desire for change. We believe that aware citizens are the foundation of a safe road environment, and this conviction inspired us to take action.
We kicked off our project with a direct approach, putting up posters on busy roads, distributing leaflets, and explaining traffic rules directly to pedestrians to spread awareness. While the national unrest after August 5th presented some challenges, we didn't give up. Instead, we adapted by scaling down our activities, focusing on local publicity, organizing discussions in educational institutions, and spreading our message on social media.
This project taught us valuable lessons about the importance and difficulty of changing public behavior regarding traffic rules, emphasizing that it requires patience, empathy, and consistent effort. We also developed crucial teamwork, time management, and crisis decision-making skills, especially when navigating national unrest. Learning to continue activities despite significant obstacles was a key takeaway.
