Project LUNTIAN

Pulung Santol National High School’s 87 Scouts united to conduct the Project LUNTIAN in their institution.

The project aims to promote environmental awareness as it spreads their idea that through gardening, we do not just nurture nature, sustain the environment, or create a greener and cleaner surroundings— we also build friendships and strengthen our relationship with others in order to create a better future for everyone.

In their activity, they started their vision in conducting a series of plant workshops along with the clean-up drive where they turned their school’s trash area into a planting land; here, they can grow various types of seedlings like chilis, eggplant, malunggay, okra, papaya, and string beans.

Even if the said events went through a few challenges such as the heavy rains and dry season which can both affect the growth of the plants, with a strong teamwork and dedication, Scouts still managed to harvest fruits/vegetables that they also sold to the teachers and other parents.

“Gardening is like planting dreams, the more you sow, the more you reap,” -Gian

Indeed, in order for us to have a better future, we do not simply wait—we act and we get involved. We must do something for the next generations to live a comfortable life where trees give color to our surroundings, as fruits feed those with empty stomachs.

With that being said, the young leaders from Pulung Santol National High School truly fulfilled their duties as they left a remarkable reminder: plant seeds that our tomorrow needs.
