Port Melbourne and Blackburn South Scouts give seniors a reason to smile

Cubs and Scouts at Port Melbourne Scout Group recently discussed ways to improve the lives of vulnerable people in our community. After a discussion about some great ideas and projects, they decided on a project that would give seniors in their community a reason to smile. They would hand make them a soft, comfortable and warm lap or shoulder blanket with a note to let them know that someone is thinking of them. Once the blankets were completed, they were donated to a local residential care facility which targets those over the age of 50 and from a financially disadvantaged background.
