kheni Lower Secondary School under Trashi Yangste Dzongkhag joined the globe in observing the International day of the Girl Child on 11th October, 2019 with an over arching theme: GirlForce:Unscripted and Unstoppable. The UNESCO club coordinator highlighted the significance and the history of the day through power poin presentation in the school MPH by calling off the morning assembly.

The coordinator also took the opportunity to senitize the girls on the minor rapes, some forms of abuses and some prevention strategies. The following points were covered during the presentations:

1. Showing different forms of abuses through pictures.

2.Some Prevention Strategies Like:

-Learn about Good Touch,Bad Touch and respond accordingly.

- Walk to and from school in groups.

-Stranger Danger: Avoid taking money or goodies, lifts and talking/going with strangers.

-Observe time and don't be out of house during odd hours.

-Report, speak and be brave if you are touched, teased or ,olested verbally or physically. Never be silent.

-Take a friend with you if you feel uncomfortable to meet any male, be it your male teacher also.

-Don't trust anyone and avoid going to odd places with boys and men.
