One of the main problems of Judge Jose De Venecia Sr. Technical Vocational Secondary School is proper waste disposal. Waste Management activity has been a practice in our school but until now, waste disposal is still uncontrollable. The scouts inspected the areas where wastes are disposed, and we’ve witnessed that the recyclable and residual wastes are not properly segregated, and these may cause environmental nuisance and more critically an adverse health effect.
The Material Recovery Facility is indeed a necessity for us to maintain cleanliness and to introduce to students the proper solid waste disposal and the natural process of 5R’s: Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, Recover, and Repair. We decided and planned to build this MRF where the current waste disposal is located.
MRF will benefit not just students but also the administrators,faculty members , staffs, waste operatives and our environment with ensured sustainable development.The use of Material Recovery Facility before the final disposal of recyclable and residual wastes disposal is indispensable and very much necessary to reduce the amount of waste. This is to ensure the proper handling of collected and segregated waste.
