LGBTQ Community: "Embracing Our Differences: Love and Compassion is the Key"

"Leadership is about emphaty. It is about having the ability to relate to and connect with people for the purpose of inspiring and empowering their lives" As a scout, we live by the Boy Scout Oath and Law. We act as a leader to our fellowmen and a voice for our country. There are a lot of problems we are facing right now especially our brothers and sisters that are part of the LGBTQ community. In the olden days ot is thought to us that women don't have an equal rights with the men but as the time passed, it changed and now women was already given a chance to change the world. In the present time, it is not just women but also the LGBTQ community are experiencing gender inequality. Harrasment, bullying and other form of discrimination. But as a scout, we need to do something for them to feel welcome and embraced by our society. By creating a project wherein us, the BSP, and the LGBTQ community will build a good relationship that will strengthen the both of our communities. The project that I want to create is to be entitled: "Embracing Our Differences: Love and Compassion is the Key" This project is a annual camp where in scouts will be inviting our LGBTQ members to join the camp. This project will also include recruitments and membership as the members of the LGBTQ will be allowed to join the Scouting movement. The very first camp will be focus on inviting the members of LGBTQ community to join not just the camp but as well as the movement. Everyone shall be allowed to join all the activities, no excemption. This will also inspired others to join the movement as this project will show why it is really fun and important to be part of the Scouting movement. The project is open for all who wants to join the Boy Scouts but still, the focus of this project is to help the LGBTQ members to be fully embraced by our community. This project will be lead by the Night High School Senior Scouts of La Salle College Antipolo. This project shall stregthen the bond between us and the LGBTQ community. This will also be a way to change the perspective of other people and how they are treating the members of LGBTQ. This will serve as an advocay for us to stop the discrimination and just give respect and love every person we meet in our lives. The way we dress, the way we talk, the way we present ourselves to others is not the basis of being part of one community. No matter who you are and what you are, everybody should be embrace and welcome. #EveryoneIsDeserving #ScoutingIsLove #NightHighSchoolScouts #LaSalleCollegeAntipolo
