Less Plastic, More Life – Join the Movement

As a responsible member of the Metropolitan Rover Scout Group, I'm deeply concerned by the lasting harm plastic pollution inflicts on our environment, wildlife, soil, and water. Inspired by Scout values and a commitment to environmental protection, I launched my initiative : Less Plastic, More Life – Join the Movement
On July 11, 2025, I along with 3 Rovers from our Rover Scout Group collected plastic waste—bottles, containers, and packaging—from our home and nearby areas. We cleaned, sorted, and sent the recyclables to a local facility. About 1 kg of plastic was reused at home for storage and gardening. We also talked to around 50 people in the community, encouraging them to reuse plastic and explaining how random plastic dumping harms the environment.
I learned that even small, individual actions by a few people can make a significant difference in waste reduction. The project highlighted the crucial role of proper waste segregation for effective recycling and reinforced that community education is as vital as the physical act of recycling in promoting sustainable habits.
