‘I HELP BECAUSE I WANT/ I WANT BECAUSE I CAN’…
…under this banner the scouts from 12th Multi-faceted Scouts Team from Handzlówka realized the project as a part of minigrant contest #CHANGE financed by the source of WOSM ‘Messengers of Peace’ programme. Actions taken by the scouts were directed mainly to the residents of Handzlówka. The campaign was aimed at improving the ability to give first aid as well as drilling into systematic care about health ( learning how to operate manometer and glucometer). The scouts instructed the elderly people how to operate manometer and glucometer, now they can do those simple, but really important tests by themselves. Thanks to introduced action the inhabitants of the village will be able to behave properly in case their life is endangered, which will increase their security. Actions taken as a part of the project allowed controlling blood pressure and the concentration of glucose in organism regularly and thanks to this consulting bad results of the tests with a doctor.
The tasks were divided into few stages:
Stage one: Performing a training for younger scouts.
Stage two: Performing a training for older scouts and wanderers.
Stage three: Presenting acquired skills by older scouts to the Cubs and Brownies.
Stage four: Conducting the action of blood pressure and concentration of glucose control for the residents of the village, once a month since January until April.
Stage five: Training for willing inhabitants of Handzlówka in operating manometer and glucometer while visiting them in their homes.
While realizing the project tasks 225 hours were done as community service.
