Help in the state of emergency

Volunteers and members of Savez Izvidjaca Srbije, the national scout organization in the republic of Serbia have organized nationwide to help the residents affected by what has been described as the worst flooding in the history of the country. Volunteers from different scout groups, together with sea scouts and their boats teamed with the emergency and rescue teams to get the people out of their flooded homes to the safe areas. Menawhile, while the water levels in some areas of the country were rising, scouts helped in filling sandbags used to reinforce raparts. In addtion to this, they are busy with running the temporary accomodation centers established for those that were evacuated. As the situation in the most affected areas becomes stable, scouts are alredy joining the teams that will help with cleaning debris from the flooded areas.
