Food Drive 2014
On Nov 22nd Members of the 2nd Highland creek helped out in an area food drive. Together we had another very successful food drive. Despite a damp and chilly day, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Ventures from 2nd Highland Creek and 7th Pickering Scouting Groups came together and helped to collect 8,432 pounds of food for Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities food bank. We have been collecting food for 32 years and this is our 4th best year ever! Over the past 11 years we have collected almost 44 tons of food.
The food donations will be used to supplement the food bank supplies and to prepare Christmas hampers for many families in our area. Thorough all of your hard work, many families will now be able to have a better Christmas.
Many thanks to all the youth, leaders and parents who participated and in particular we want to thank the Centennial Community for their continued support and encouragement for this and our other Scouting Activities.
