drug Abuse Campaign

There is growing trend of Tramodol Abuse among Ghanaian youth in the country. Tramadol is a restricted medication used for the treatment of a normal pain like headache ,but now this have becoming a drug of addiction and almost useless in the society. The Kintampo district scout council hosted the regional campaign launched of drug abuse and the use of hard drugs in Kintampo south (Jema) . The theme for the campaign is “TELLING THE YOUTH THE TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS; THE ROLE OF SCOUT. The aim of the campaign is to educate and reduce the rampant abuse of drugs in the society. We started the campaign on 2nd April 2018 to 20 July 2018 for the first phase of the campaign.After the regional launch the kintampo district scout council continue with the education in the kintampo municipality, by visiting schools, churches, mosque and youth groups to educate them on the effect of tramadol and other hard drugs. We visited 20 schools and 10 youth groups in Kintampo municipality after visiting the schools and the youth groups, after education we distribute books that educate them on drugs to the members. our target was to educate 1300 participants but after the first face of the project we recorded 1435 participants. second face should be continue soon.
