Community service; An Act of Humanity
The gracious word of Mahatma Gandhi, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others" reminds us to involve and make a difference in someone's life by rendering services in the best of our capacity.
Fifteen (15) staffs and thirty five (35) students (of which 25 of them are scouts) of Norbuling Central School volunteered to construct a makeshift to the destitute family of Pangkhar, Sershong under Sarpang dzongkhag. The project sprout gracefully as common souls could come together in performing this act of humanity. It has become dire need to have home as they become homeless since their family disputes. The underprivileged family were handicapped since then: they neither have any source of income nor were able to sought support.
Considering all those problems the school under the behest of Management geared their philanthropic move to construct a makeshift with available local raw materials. We rendered our helping hands reĺentlessly for almost eighteen hours (9 hours per day). The relentless helping hands went so well that we could built a home for bereaved family within two days. It has been like a light in the darkness as destitute family doesn't have to go homeless hereafter.
P.S. Two daughters (class 11 and 7) of the family is currentlystudying in our school (Norbuling Central School).
