"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal."
― Albert Pike

Aum Sangmo, a 42 years old, grief stricken, guilt tinged and cryptically uncommunicative mother of five children is from Shazam village under Khamdang gewog in Tashiyangtse. At present she alone looks after four of her five children.

During the admission Aum Sangmo shared her grievances and difficulty she is facing to send her children to the school without a proper source of income and pleaded the school administration to have her daughters admitted to the school whereby it would ease the burden on her. She also shared about the poor condition of her house that they are living in. It was learnt that she can’t even afford to finance her school going children to buy basic boarding necessities and pay the fees.

On 10th February a team comprising of Tarayana Club Coordinator Mr. Karchung (VP), Community Scout Leader Mr. Rinchen Dorji, Y-VIA Coordinator Mr. Karsang Ugyen and a senior teacher Lop. Kinzang Dorji of the school went for an investigation at Sangmo’s house to verify her house and living condition that she and her children were going through. Upon the arrival at Aum Sangmo’s place, the team found out that she was desperately in need of help. The house she lived in with her three daughter currently was in shamble, where the condition could not even be described to be called as a home. Thus the team decided that school will render help in repairing the house at the earliest.

It was on February 23, School Administration in collaboration with Community Based Scouts (constituting 90% staff as members), Y-VIA and Scouts provided a helping hand in repairing her house.
Now Aum Sangmo who is very happy, has a better home to live in.

If you can’t help a hundred people, then just help one. Helping someone and bringing smiles on their face is the biggest satisfaction that you get at the end.
