Clean up for health
Leptospirosis is a disease that can be contracted by human being and is passed on by rats. When rat urine gets onto items ingested by people the bacteria enters the body and can damage the liver. If not treated this can lead to death.
Rats breed and live in surroundings that are unkempt. Cleaning up such surroundings will reduce the chance of rats transmitting leptospirosis.
The Yallahs Scouts from Jamaica joined efforts in cleaning up the property of a man who contracted leptospirosis. The yard area was cleaned and inside his house was cleaned and painted.
