Celebration of International Day of Peace in Sherubtse College by Sherubtse Rovers
We received a mail from National Scout Organization to observe the International Day of Peace which is on 21st
September.
To mark the day and strengthen the idea of peace, Sherubtse Rover Scouts conducted a blood donation campaign in the morning and English extempore speech (with theme “Right to Peace”) competition among the forums towards the evening.
Blood donation program started from 9.00AM and lasted till 4.00PM. We received 8 faculties from Mongar Eastern Regional Referral Hospital and Trashigang General Hospital to render their help on that day. Around 146 people took part in the event.
While on the other hand, English extempore speech competition among the forums started from 5 PM. The topics were based on the theme ‘Right to peace’ as decided by United Nation to mark the day. 68 scout members participated in the program as an audience. In total, 93 members (inclusive of judges and participants and audiences for the speech) participated in in the program. Both the event went very smoothly and it was actually a fruitful event.
