Birthing Kits Foundation Australia Birthing Kits Packing Day
Venturers with the Brindabella Unit at Southwell Scout Group, Page, ACT, Australia worked with members of the Canberra Rotaract Club (18-20 year old rotary members) along with members of the public, Cubs and Scouts, a Cub leader and an adult helper with our Scout group to pack 400 birthing kits for women in developing countries.
These kits contain essential supplies to allow for the safe delivery and birth of children in regional and remote areas where it may be difficult to get to a hospital or where hospitals may be full and unable to take extra patients.
The kits are provided by the charity Birthing Kits Australia and were packed by volunteers from Scouting, Rotaract and members of the public.
The Unit will work with the same community partners for a second packing assembly day to be held at our hall in November 2017 where the aim is to pack twice as many kits as last time!
