Day 2 at the ILT 2025 – Madagascar 🇲🇬
We explored leadership challenges and the practical “nuts and bolts” that strengthen a leader’s effectiveness. These conversations helped us reflect on the obstacles young leaders often face and the strategies we can use to navigate them with resilience.
Our discussions also focused on the challenges within National Scout Organizations (NSOs) and how young people can recognize opportunities for service in addressing them. It was empowering to see how common challenges across the region can be transformed into collective opportunities for innovation and collaboration.
Another highlight was understanding youth leadership in WOSM and how servant leadership shapes organizational culture. These sessions reminded us that leadership is not about position, but about service—putting others first and building environments where everyone can thrive.
We also gained valuable insights into Scout donation platforms and their role in sustaining Scouting projects, as well as the role of Youth Forums and how to effectively plan and manage them as spaces for youth engagement and decision-making.
The biggest takeaway for me today is that leadership is rooted in service, collaboration, and creating opportunities for others. I am inspired to take these lessons forward in my Scouting journey and in the work I do within my community.
