Rovers for a Safer, Healthier Tomorrow

As the Rover Scout Leader, I saw a gap in dengue awareness efforts—prisons were often overlooked. Recognizing the health risks inmates and staff face, we decided to act. Our team conducted a dengue awareness and mosquito control campaign at Sylhet Bandar Jail. We believe in serving where help is most needed, ensuring health and safety reach everyone, including those behind bars. No one should be left behind in such efforts.

As the Rover Scout Leader, I led a team of 10 Rover Scouts to Sylhet Bandar Jail after securing permission from the authorities. With their support, we used spray machines to control mosquito breeding in key areas. We also engaged inmates and staff, raising awareness on dengue prevention and cleanliness. Our mission combined direct action with education to reduce health risks and promote a safer, healthier environment for all.

I have learned that in this project as human being in society we have some responsibility, also in our scout method an element is Community Involvement is a part of it. I learned about team spirit, guidance, spreading awareness to the society for creating a better world.
