Preparation of a meal for a childrens home

First me(sanithu liyanage) and my friend(chenitha tennakoon) went to the shop to buy things needed to make the meal for the chidren.

Then me and my friend cleared an area for cooking at my place and set up the hearth.the menu we decided to give was, 

  1. yellow rice
  2. seeni sambal
  3. fried eggs
  4. potato curry
  5. papadam

With the help of our family members we started cooking.First we started to make the seeni sambal.I helped to cut the onions and we heated oil into a large vessel.Then we put spices such as cinnamon,cardamon and curry leaves and added the chopped onions and cooked them until it turned light brown colour and added chilli powder,salt and sugar.Then we cooked it till it turned brown in colour and kept it to cool down and put it to a container.

To make the potato curry,first we boiled the potatoes and removed the skins of them.Then taking a large vessel we tempered some spices in hot oil and and put the boiled potatoes added some water.After that we added some coconut milk and stirred the mixture and i put it into a container after cooling.

Then me and my friend washed the rice and put it to a large vesselon the hearth with tempered spices like tumeric,cardamon and cloves and then we stirred it well and covered it for a few minutes and removed it from the heat and we added peas.

At last,we fried papadam and we fried eggs after we boiled and removed the shells of them.

Then at around 5.30 p.m. we finished cooking and cleaned up the cooking area.Then at around 6.00p.m. we went to the childrens home and handovered the food.The meal was scheduled at 6.45 p.m.Then at around 6.30p.m. me and my friend went with our parents to the chidrens home where we were greeted with the members and children of the chidrens house.Then we talked with the head-in-charge of the chidrens home where she expressed her sincere gratitude and explained the procedure the children were the following.Then we distributed food plates and chocalates for the children.We talked with some of the children where they expressed their thanks for a wonderful meal and left the place at about 7.30 pm after writing the objective of giving this meal in a book which was given to us

This day was a sucess for us both and we enjoyed it happily and joyfully.
