Path of Service: Rebuilding for Safer Steps
The project was motivated by the need to ensure safe and accessible pathways for students and community members after heavy rainfall damaged the footpath in front of Motithang HSS. As Scouts, our sense of duty and service inspired us to step forward and contribute to community well-being by restoring the pathway.
The service activity was done with teamwork and dedication. This not only solved an immediate safety problem but also showed the strong commitment to helping the community and building resilience. The footpaths which connects houses of students to homes were all damaged by heavy rainfall so though the original footpaths were not fixable at our level, we made a path for students to avoid injuries and risks
Through this project, participants learned the importance of teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on service to address community challenges. The activity strengthened their sense of civic duty while demonstrating how small actions can make a significant difference in ensuring safe and sustainable public spaces
