KENYA SCOUTS RESPONSE TO FLOODS

The Kenya Scouts Association responded to the pressing issue of flooding which had already displaced thousands of families. Out of these families, 100 of them had already been identified as scout families and therefore there was need for the Association to mobilize for resources to support the families.
The response strategy involved; • Psychosocial Support to the affected families • Essential Aid Distribution to 150 scout families with a total of 600 people in the households. • Community Engagement and Support This was done with collaboration with emergency response agencies in Kenya together with the local authorities.
Scouting has a great impact in the community and such small acts of kindness inspire other people in the community.
