Helping our soup kitchen and food bank

Helping our soup kitchen and food bank

This year our Beaver colony has been learning about food insecurity and how we can help those that are affected. We collected non perishable food at our all-sections Christmas party and donated those items to our food bank. To celebrate Scout-Guide, our group got together with some local Girl Guides and we learned about Lord Baden-Powell and decorated cupcakes for our local soup kitchen. We also collected pasta and pasta sauce for the soup kitchen. These items are 2 of their most wanted items. We are also collecting pasta and sauce at our upcoming sleepover and accepting them as dues at our weekly meetings. We also have plans to go an help at the food bank distribution centre and learn more about who they help, what they do and how we can help.
