BUILDING BETTER MENTAL HEALTH
Many people have faced serious challenges to their mental health. Along with the health impacts of the disease, COVID-19 has led to, self and social isolation, disconnections from family and friends, quarantine and lockdowns on movemennt resulting in more people than ever experiencing feelings of helplessness, isolation, grief, anxiety and depression. Demand for health support services has increased exponentially as a result.
To address these challenges and increase the capacity and vailability of supprt, governments, local communities, and civic organizations, the Messengers of Peace Local Council and Boy Scouts of the Philippines Tarlac Council conducted a Mental Health Awareness Webnar entitled "BUILDING BETTER MENTAL HEALTH" last Aprill 22, 2021 via zoom application. This will be a reminder and help that mental health is essential and that those living with mental issues are deserving of care, understanding, compassion, and pathways to hope, healing, recovery, and fulfillment. After all, that is what we all want and need now more than ever - for ourselves, for our loved ones, for our communities, and for our world. Volunteering has been shown as one way to assist. Volunteering not only reconnects people and supports those who need help, it gives volunteers themselves a sense of meaning which can help counteract low mood and produce positive thinking.
