Dialogue Puzzle

1. Introduce the topic of Dialogue. What is Dialogue?
2. Then, explain we will discover the 10 Principles of Dialogue.
3. Form teams of up to 5 members and provide a puzzle to each group to assemble. 
4. While building the puzzle, you should give certain restrictions to different members of the team. Some of the restrictions that can be indicated are:

• They cannot speak at any time.
• They have 5 – 10 - 15 minutes to solve the puzzle.
• Only one person can touch the pieces.
• Only one member can see and the rest can’t etc.

5. Once the groups have completed the puzzle, ask the members to reflect on the content. The puzzle contains the ten principles of dialogue, they should read through each statement carefully to support the discussion. For more detailed information on each principle, refer to the D4P manual, pg 86
6. Bring the group together to share their thoughts on the 10 Principles, and ask for 1-3 individual reflections from the group.
7. Summarise the importance of the 10 Principles before starting the debriefing and reflection.
