Community Service in Reconstruction of Stupa at Daka Village

There was a stupa just below Daka village under Khamdang Gewog in Trashi Yangtse supposed to have been built by people of Daka and Domtshang. The stupa was built to protect people from famine as commanded by 13th reincarnated Lama Jangchub Pelzang. After the completion, Lam Jabgchub Pelzang was beleived to have appeared in the form of bird to consecrate the stupa. The stupa was known by the name Sayang Bumpa and later named as Lodue Bumpa as the people of that community performed ritual near the stupa annually.
As the stupa was beyond maintenance and repair, people of that community has dismantled the stupa to construct a new chorten on that same place. Be it a mere coincidence or Karma, 17th incarnation of Jangchub Pelzang has already consented to consecrate the chorten after its completion. Tarayana club members, Y-VIA members, scout volunteers, student volunteers and staff volunteers have contributed physical labour in carrying stones to the site of construction. The people of the community were pleased by the gesture and contribution made by the school.
