Scouts for peace, action and resilience in Kenya
My motivation came directly from attending the Messengers of Peace training in March 2026. I realised that Narok County had almost no visible peacebuilding activity there was no structured platform helping young people and educators engage with peace education civic responsibility, or dialogue.
I designed a session curriculum translating national level training content into a practical locally relevant session and delivered a 45 mins peace education session for 28 Rovers and teachers at Oltanki School The session combined flipchart based teaching with interactive discussion and closed with a reflection activity where participants wrote what peace means to them a personal commitment and a peace challenge they observe in their community
I learned that peace becomes real to people only when it's connected to their own lived experience, not taught in the abstract. I also learned that peacebuilding cannot be a solo effort it requires building a team that shares ownership of the work.
