Sandy Bay Charity Fair at DKCH 2018

Sandy Bay Charity Fair at DKCH 2018

229thScout Troop is passionate to facilitate and support social activities to benefits people in need, and we have participated in the charity sales of Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital for many years. I take the liberty to organize and coordinate this year fundraising activity on 3 Nov 2018.

We collected the books and merchandise through donation, and we intended to involve the whole scout troop – from Grasshopper to Scouts alike – in participating this meaningful event.

A total of 61 scouts, together with 11 leaders and 16 parents involved in this activity. Start from setting the booth, pricing each item; to the sales strategy and deployment of scouts to achieve the best selling result. The booth starts running from 9:30am to 5:30pm.

Scouts are eager promoting various merchandises to visitors; in particular, Grasshoppers and their parents, as well as Cubs have team-up and proactively selling items around the venue. Though most of the items are sold at $10 or $15, visitors and sponsors are generous to support and most of them paid more than the goods value; this is also an appreciation to our junior scouts who are willing to step out and speak up proudly.

By the end of event, we achieved the record high by raising $7000. It’s through the dedicated work and support from the whole Troop.
