Reduce Child Mortality (6 month Community Development Project)
According to the syllabus of Rashtrapathi test we decided to have the six month community development project on child mortality. After conducting the COH on 3rd March 2016, we planned to execute the project from 18 October 2016 to 22 March 2017. Cheroopa locality was selected as the area of study.
Permission from Scout Master, Head mistress, DOC and DC were gained and we approached Dr. Bindu, MBBS, MD (Assistant professor, Dept. of Community medicine, MCH) to discuss about our project and requested for all guidance and support for the same.
Later, a schedule for six months was prepared to execute the project. The schedule is as follows:
• October – Survey the status of child mortality in the locality – Cheroopa.
• November – Conduct awareness class for the patients and others.
• December – Provide awareness on child mortality and infertility.
• January – Distribution of notices and pamphlets.
• February – Awareness class on immunization.
• March – Awareness class on changing lifestyles and food habits.
The successful completion of the community development project on child mortality as per schedule happened because of the guidance of officers, parents and the whole hearted co-operation from the residents of Cheroopa locality. The project was successfully closed on 26 March 2017.Rest 5 days we analysed the survey report.
